Purina ad with Border Collie :(

The YouTube video of my favorite ad is gone, and I have not found it elsewhere. I did find a page with some pix from the ad: http://tanner-blaze.co.cc/pictures/displayimage.php?album=19&pos=9 Best I can do for now!

The sculpture of Neil Armstrong is between the pedestrian crossing signs in the center! And my picture does not do justice to just how large this building is.

New pond just for Gilles . . .

I am going to move the Gilles clip-a-thon to a blog all its own! Look for the new pond @

The clip-a-thon had a glitch - my fave YouTube clips were deleted due to a rules violation by the poster. Hopefully I can find other versions. ;-(

New toy!!!

The doggie below is the cutest and the smartest doggie EVER. He didn’t live to the digital age, but I just got a gadget that scans photos and this comes from a little 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 print. If you want to check out info on my gadget, go to this page: http://www.digitalpictureframereview.com/2009/05/pandigital-adds-photo-slide-scanners

I have the PANSCN02, but I think I will have to get the PANSCN03 also. My dad was into slide photography most of my childhood and I do not even have many print photos. But now – have gadget, will travel!

What does that look mean? LOL

What do you suppose doggie is thinking?

"I dropped my knitting. Can you go get it for me?"

Or "Are we going to be home in time to see Gilles dance?"

the other side of the Honeycomb slip stitch

Here's the "other" right side of the cloth - I couldn't get both pictures to play nice in a single post.
I also see that my font color keeps changing . . . did I mention I'm new at this? LOL

Honeycomb Slip Stitch Cloth

This was my first attempt to make my own pattern (after I felt I had mastered Grandma's Favorite).

The pattern stitch came from page 27 of the Dell Purse Book Pattern Stitches published in 1972. The cover price was all of $.25! Both the right and the wrong side of this pattern create interesting looks and it works up nice in variegated yarn.

The pattern is worked on an odd number of stitches and 4 rows. The borders are 4 stitches on each side and 6 rows top and bottom. The borders are all knit in this pattern.

Cast on 43 stitches.
Rows 1-6: knit across.
Row 7: knit across.
Row 8: knit 4, *k1, slip1 repeat from * across to last 5 stitches, knit 5.
Row 9: knit across.
Row 10: knit 4, *slip 1, k 1 repeat from * across to last 3 stitches, knit 3.
Repeat rows 7-10 until cloth is almost square, about 60 rows.
Knit 6 rows, casting off on a wrong side row.

I used size 7 or 8 needles with a finished size of 8x8" in the cloth pictured.

Hello!

I thought I'd give this blog thing a try . . . wade on in and see how well I could swim in this pond. ;-) I don't have a lot to quack about yet, so I started with my favorite links. I have a lot of 'em, so it was hard to narrow it down!
